Fantastic Fridays Fall 2014

We began our Fall Fantastic Fridays this year on September 19. We practice Bible memory together, then listen to an object lesson by Pastor Bill. After that, we split into two groups and do crafts/skills building and game time. Before we switch, we enjoy a snack together. Our kids (ages up to 18) have all said how much they love these events, so we are very thankful to all the people who work hard to make these Fridays so FANTASTIC!!! 🙂

Ladies\’ Retreat 2014

Our ladies had a great time on Friday, October 10, taking a stroll at Roger Williams Park. We had a lovely walk, a fun picnic, and three of us even enjoyed a ride on the horsies at the carosel! 🙂 Then we decided to visit Bass Pro Shops and some stores at Patriot Place Mall. After that, we headed to Shrewsbury to check into our hotel. Then we ate at the Olive Garden and took a brief stroll through Solomon Pond Mall before going to bed. We got up early on October 11 to eat breakfast together in the hotel lobby & check out, and then we made the short drive over to Worcester for the Iron Sharpen\’s Iron Women\’s Conference. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the conference. God touched our hearts through the speakers, and we had fun, as well. We are so thankful for the opportunity to worship, relax, have fun, laugh, and learn together.

Baptisms 2014

What a joy to baptize three adults who completed a discipleship program and two children. Each one of them gave a testimony of how they came to Christ and what He has done for them since that time. It was an incredible blessing to listen to these precious people share their new faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior! To God be the glory!

VBS 2014 Day 5

Day 5 was great at Studio Go!  We learned to serve, just like Ananias served Saul when he was temporarily blind (Acts 9:3-22).  The boys raised $42, and the girls raised $37 for the Providence Rescue Mission.  Great job, kids!  And Professor Wordsmart and Coach Armstrong lost the final round, so they were going to get slimed!  But in a last minute turn of events, Coach Armstrong suggested to the kids that Wade Winalot, that dashing game show host, should instead be slimed.  The kids agreed, so  they escorted him to the sliming!

VBS Day 4

Go Obey!  We learned today about Peter and the apostles in Acts 5:16-29.  They were imprisoned for teaching the people about Jesus.  When the rulers told them not to continue to preach about Jesus, Peter said, \”We ought to obey God rather than men.\”  The Bible teaches us to obey those in authority over us, but we must always obey what God says in the Bible.  We had fun playing games and decorating back packs!  One more day!

VBS 2014 Day 3

Good news!  Good news!  Jesus is alive!  Studio Go! was all about telling everyone the good news that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save us from our sins, and then He rose again on the third day.  The ladies went to the tomb to put spices on His body, but when they arrived, the stone was rolled away and His body was gone!  An angel came and told them, \”He is not here, for He is risen as He said.  Go quickly and tell His disciples!\”  (Matthew 28:1-8)  The kids all took home Wordless Books so they could tell their friends the good news!

VBS 2014 Day 2

Day Two at Studio Go was a lot of fun!  Today Queen Esther joined our crew.   Once again, Coach Armstrong and Professor Wordsmart just couldn\’t get any answers correct!  We played \”Let\’s Make a Deal,\” where the kids learned about our theme for the day, \”Go Risk.\”  We learned about how Queen Esther took a risk (Esther 4:8-5:2) for God, and He took care of her and the Jewish people.  Remember, \”no matter who you are and what you know, God is with you wherever you go!\”

Fantastic Fridays Spring Semester 2014

Beginning in March, we hosted seven Fantastic Friday events this spring.  We made a rocket launch, rockets, decorated pots and planted seeds, made cards, bird feeders, and played a ton of fun games!  We learned about important Bible truths through unusual object lessons, and memorized a LOT of scripture!  We ended the semester with a campout, which was a lot of fun!  Congratulations to all our kids who earned patches for Rocket Launching, Camping, and Bible Memory!
